How workspaces, membership roles, and multi-product access work on Banana Pin.
A workspace is where your devices, members, and product access live. There are two kinds: Personal, created automatically for your own use, and Organization, created for a team you can invite people into.
Each workspace can hold devices from multiple Banana Pin products (Skymetric and others as they launch) — a product only shows up for a workspace once a device for that product has been claimed into it.
People are added to a workspace as members with one of four roles:
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything — including deleting the workspace. |
| Admin | Manage devices, alerts, members, invitations, and workspace settings. Cannot delete the workspace. |
| Operator | View everything; edit devices and alerts. Cannot manage members or settings. |
| Viewer | Read-only access to devices, alerts, and members. |
"Product division" refers to which Banana Pin product (e.g. Skymetric) a device and its data belong to. A single workspace can span several product divisions at once, and each product's app only shows that product's own devices and data — even though members and permissions are managed once, in the shared workspace.
