Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-08-07

This Privacy Policy explains what information Banana Pin collects through its products and website, how it's used, and the choices you have. This is a starting draft and should be reviewed by legal counsel before publishing.

§01

Information we collect

We collect account information you provide (name, email, workspace details) and device telemetry generated by connected products (device identifiers, sensor readings, status events, timestamps). If you submit a product inquiry on our website, we also collect your name, phone number, and anything else you choose to include (email, company, message). We do not collect more device data than a product needs to function.

§02

How we use information

Account information is used to operate your workspace, authenticate access, and communicate service updates. Device telemetry powers monitoring, alerting, and actuation features, and is retained according to each product's data retention settings. Inquiry information (name, phone, email, company, message) is used only to follow up about the product you asked about — by phone or email — and is not used for marketing unrelated to that inquiry, sold, or shared with third parties.

§03

Cookies

Our website and product dashboards use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

§04

Third-party processors

We use infrastructure providers (hosting, MQTT messaging, email delivery) to operate our products. These providers only process data on our behalf and under contract, not for their own purposes.

§05

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information — or of an inquiry you submitted, even if you never created an account — at any time by contacting us. Workspace administrators control device-level data retention for their own workspace.

§06
